Pamela M. Gignac
Dedicated to philanthropy since 1985 as a staff, volunteer, author, advisor and teacher, Pam has worked with local, national and international charities in the UK and Canada. She was inspired by her parents and after being a volunteer with Rick Hansen’s original Man in Motion Tour in her hometown of Vancouver.
In 1989, while in England she worked with HRH Prince Charles, various celebrities, top executives, business leaders, politicians and dignitaries. Other projects included Sting’s Rainforest Foundation, the Royal Brompton Hospital and the British Red Cross. Back in Canada since 1996, Pam has worked with the Canadian Red Cross, Kids Help Phone, MS Society, Alzheimer Society, YMCA of Greater Toronto and University of Toronto.
Recently, Pam was the Director for setting up a new Canadian charity and is currently with the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Her skills and experiences include processes, policies and procedures, data systems, direct marketing, planned giving, website design, special events, sponsorship and major gifts from individuals, companies and foundations as a writer, researcher, strategist, coach and solicitor.
Pam is a popular speaker, teacher at Humber College, recipient of the Rick Hansen Difference Makers Award and a fundraising author and editor (Wiley & Sons). She advocates best practices to abide by CRA, privacy and data protection regulations as well as transparency, accountability, Association of Fundraising Professional ethics and the Donor Bill of Rights.
Proud to be supporting the Cherry family and pet rescue efforts in Canada, Pam is married with two young boys and has gone through a couple of pet adoptions of unwanted, loyal and loving cats.
