Anna graduated from the University of Toronto in 1992 with a BA Specialist in Linguistics and Italian. In 1993, she received a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University. Due to a lack of teaching opportunities at the time, her career was very short. Having a practical financial background, she worked for various companies such as Data General, Pepsi and Best Foods. After her children came along, she became a full time mother.
As rewarding as motherhood can be, Anna needed to find something to do while raising her children. She joined the Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) at St. Clement Catholic School where she has held the position of Treasurer for the past 10 years. She also joined her community ratepayer’s group, the Markland Wood Homeowners Association (MWHA). Anna was a Director, Secretary, Vice-President and recently completed a three year term as President. She is now the Editor of the MWHA’s monthly newsletter called The Marklander. Anna is also very dedicated to her church, Holy Angels. She gets her “teaching” fix there where she teaches weekly Sunday School and is also the Catechist.
Being a part of The Don Cherry Pet Rescue Foundation is very exciting for Anna. She can bring her skills and experience to the table for a worthy cause. Ironically, Anna was never a “pet” person…until her youngest convinced her one day to get a dog. Archie, a Yorkshire Terrier, soon became a member of the family and won Anna’s heart! How could anyone harm their pet?
